It's a Swamp Thing...

See this couple...this intelligent, witty, couple is Alex and Angela McRae....you may know them..Alex writes for "The Newnan Times Herald", and Angela is Editor of the "Newnan Coweta Magazine"....she also wrote a book called "Dainty Dinning" because she knows all things related to tea...I'm not even joking...see her blog link a little lower on my page....There is something I know about this couple that you may not know...keep reading....

This is Angela's book, it contains vintage recipes, memories, and memorabilia from America's department store tea rooms....I sell the book here at the shop, as a matter of fact I just wrapped one up for a customer before I started writing on the blog today....Angela is my good friend and she reminds me of the cover of the book..."pink"....yet.....
You know all that really good looking painted furniture in my store? Well, a lot of that furniture is because of this man...Tony Brown...and you what they say...behind every great man is an even greater woman....enter his wife, Frances....they look like a sweet, normal looking couple too, don't they? Keep going....
This is the Jambalaya I made last night because Scott and I, along with The McRaes and The Browns had a special party last night....don't let that "Dainty Dinning" fool you with Angela, or that "Yes Ma'am, No Ma'am" exterior you get from Tony all the time...we all love to watch "Swamp People!" That's right! And, the premiere was last night....everybody yell "Choot, em Elizabet!"

Okay, Now let's talk about Valentines Day! Here at Cydney's Alley we have some really cute signs and pillows for Valentines Day, or really any day of the week....If you haven't been married that long....this might be the sign for you....

After you've been married a few years, your man will come to understand....and if he doesn't, slip these two pillows on your bed and he will definitely get the message....

In the end, this little sign sums it up pretty good...

Speaking of Valentines....this is an old picture of my Mom and Dad....Jack and Shannon Alley...lovely isn't it?

This is my sweet husband, Scott...He does all kinds of things for me...he loads and unloads, he drives to estates sales in numerous states all for the sake of "uniqueness"....he sometimes fills in at the cash register at Cydney's Alley on a Sunday afternoon, he loves to "junk" as much as I do...he even came up with the name "Junktiques" for our store...He is a great husband and a great father.... BUT, in addition to all this "Sweet Scott" has a real job too....he and partner Phil Cheeves own "Barnett and Cheeves " Building Supply....

Who in their right mind would open a Building Supply in this economy? Well, we did ! Two Years ago and along with a lot of prayer and a lot of hard work it's going great!Since "Sweet Scott" does so much to bring you "Fine Junktiques" don't you think you should be buying your building materials from him? Why, yes, you say. ...where in the world is he located? Well, I'm glad you asked...
Barnett & Cheeves is located at 1189 Highway 16 East, Newnan, Ga 30263. You can find them on the web at http://www.barnettchevees.com/ The phone number is 770-253-2630 No job is too big or too small!
This is Chris, Scott's brother....He drives for Barnett & Cheeves...I just felt like putting him in cause he is sweet too...he has been known to load a table or two for Cydney's Alley as well.... Liz

Just Talking...

Today was Bebe's day at the store...I did sneak down there just for a little while though and it was a good thing I did...I was bringing in the flowers for the bike planter, while Bebe was ringing up sales and busy as a bee! She needed me to help her load the two "Old Rockers" that sold today...Rod Stewart went willingly, but we had a little trouble with Steven Tyler, of course...
Scott and I put in the cutest farm table last night, but I forgot to take a picture! It's just the right size for a breakfast nook...I'll get the picture on here no later than Friday when I will be back in Senoia...Hope to see you there! Liz

New Stuff, New Stuff, New Stuff!!!!

Okay, well, first of all I'm a little embarrassed by how far I made Scott drive to get these books...further than even I realized we were going, but, oh well....there are 50 of these little beauties...all from the 40's and 50's and I think they are so wonderful...and really, don't my nails look good too?

I am loving these signs! For all you Lake Wedowee fans, this one with the "Boat for Hire" is so cute! And of course the Senoia signs speak for themselves....you can see most of these on the outside of the building as you drive by as they are treated specifically for indoor or outdoor display!
This is my niece Hannah Raine, she is not for sale but she is so sweet I could eat her with a spoon...and I love her so much I had to put her on the blog...she is a "junker" in training....

This French Country set will have you  saying "tu vole' avec mon coue ! ( You stole my heart)  And then, "Be still my heart" when you see it is only $395.00!
